CDAC Free Online Communication Courses

 All courses:

  • Address accessibility for people with speech, language communication disabilities, not caused by significant hearing loss
  • Are given by instructors who have communication disabilities
  • Can be taken at your own pace, anytime from Sept 24, 2018, until January 31, 2019
  • Provide a certificate of attendance

Making your services accessible for people with communication disabilities

  • For people who work in government, public, private and non-profit organizations
  • Learn ways to provide services to people with communication disabilities in-person, over the phone, at meetings and public events and via written information.
  • Duration:  40 minutes

Communication Assistance 

  • For attendants, direct service professionals, and others who support individuals who have disabilities
  • Learn ways to assist people with communication disabilities when interacting at appointments and meetings.
  • Ideal learning opportunity for students in the disability sector
  • Eligible participants can apply to be on the CDAC communication assistance database 
  • Duration: 2-3 hours

How to work with a communication assistant

  • Designed for people who have communication disabilities and/or family members
  • Learn about finding, hiring, training and working with a communication assistant.
  • Duration: 2 hours
